Three rules that cover most of it
All twelve are below, and all twelve are enforced. If you only ever read three, read these.
Treat people like people
Respect is the whole rule. Harassment, hate speech, threats and discrimination are not debated here, they are removed. You can disagree with anyone about anything as long as you argue with the point and not the person.
Play the game as built
Exploits, cheats, hacks, bots and unauthorized tools all come to the same thing: taking from everyone else what they earned honestly. Report the bug instead and you are helping, not stealing.
Keep private things private
Real names, addresses, workplaces, socials — yours or anybody else's — stay out of chat. Doxxing is the one offense that skips the warning stage entirely.
Where these rules apply
- Every game server — Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, EverQuest and Legends of Aria
- The Discord server, every channel in it, and direct messages between members about community business
- This website: profiles, guilds, news comments, the shop and support tickets
- Any event, stream or test build we run
Join any of them and you are agreeing to this page. It sits alongside the Terms of Service, which is the agreement behind your account.

The line under each heading is a plain-English summary. The bullets under it are the rule.
Respectful Behavior
Disagree as much as you like. Attack the person and you are done.
- Treat all community members, staff, and players with respect.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or discriminatory behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Disagreements are allowed, but they must be expressed civilly. Personal attacks are strictly prohibited.
Usernames, Character Names, and Guild Names
Every name you choose — character, guild, forum handle — has to be fine for all ages.
- All usernames, character names, guild names, and forum handles must be appropriate for all ages.
- Offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate names are prohibited. Violations may result in warnings, renaming, or bans.
No Exploiting, Cheating, or Unauthorized Tools
Found a bug? Report it. Use it, and you lose the account.
- Using exploits, bugs, hacks, cheats, automation tools, or bots on any MMO server is prohibited.
- Report any discovered bugs or exploits immediately to staff through the proper channels.
- Unauthorized manipulation of accounts, characters, or assets will result in penalties, including possible permanent bans.
No Advertising or Spamming
No plugging other servers, no flooding channels, stay on topic.
- Advertising other Discord servers, private servers, or commercial products is prohibited unless approved by staff.
- Excessive spamming, flooding, repeated messages, or off-topic posts are not allowed.
- Keep posts and chats relevant to the topic of the channel or forum section.
Civil Discussion & Appropriate Content
Jokes and memes, yes. Politics, religion and NSFW, no.
- Avoid political debates, religious arguments, or other controversial topics unrelated to the community/game.
- Do not post NSFW content, illegal material, or links to harmful websites.
- Memes, jokes, and casual conversation are allowed as long as they remain safe and respectful.
Staff Authority
Follow staff instructions. You can appeal; final still means final.
- Staff decisions are final regarding moderation, rule enforcement, and account penalties.
- Follow instructions from moderators and admins at all times.
- Appeals can be submitted through the appropriate channels, but reversal is not guaranteed.
Reporting Issues
Report it privately through the proper channel, not in public chat.
- Use designated support channels or forms to report bugs, exploits, harassment, or technical issues.
- Do not publicly call out players or staff; let staff handle investigations privately.
- Provide accurate and complete information when reporting issues to help resolve them efficiently.
Privacy and Personal Information
Nobody's real-life details — including your own. Doxxing is an instant ban.
- Do not share your own or others’ personal information (real names, addresses, social media, etc.).
- Doxxing or unauthorized disclosure of personal information will result in immediate bans.
Community Content
Post what you made, credit what you did not, respect other people's copyright.
- Posts, screenshots, fan art, and other user-generated content must respect copyrights and IP of others.
- Malevolent Gaming reserves the right to remove any content that violates these rules or is deemed inappropriate.
Compliance with Game-Specific Rules
Every world adds its own rules on top of these. Both sets apply.
- Each MMO server has its own rules in addition to these community guidelines.
- You are expected to follow both the general community rules and any game-specific rules while playing.
Consequences of Rule Violations
Warning, suspension, ban — scaled to what happened, and it can cover the whole network.
- Warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans may be issued depending on severity.
- Repeated or severe violations may result in removal from all Malevolent Gaming services, including Discord, forums, and game servers.
Continuous Updates
These rules change. Staying here means accepting the current version.
- These rules may be updated at any time to improve community safety and fairness.
- Continued participation in the community constitutes acceptance of the latest version of the rules.
No rule matches that. Try a shorter word, or clear the search.
What happens when it goes wrong
Nothing here is a fixed tariff — severity decides. This is the shape of it.
Most rule breaks end here. A moderator tells you what crossed the line and you stop doing it.
A mute, or time away from a channel, a server or the whole network, when a warning did not land.
For serious breaks — cheating, doxxing, hate speech — or for a pattern that keeps repeating.
Repeated or severe violations can cost you every Malevolent Gaming service at once: game servers, Discord and forums.
How staff decide
Enforcement is judged on what happened and how severe it was, not on who reported it or how long you have been here. Staff look at logs, chat records and database history before acting, and investigations happen in private so that neither side gets tried in public chat.
Being a donor changes nothing. Being staff changes nothing. Both are held to this page like everyone else.
Both doors are open
Reporting something
- Use a support ticket or the staff channels in Discord. Both reach the team; neither is public.
- Bring the details: who, where, when, and a screenshot or log line if you have one. A report with evidence gets resolved; a report without it usually cannot be.
- Do not call people out in public chat, players or staff. It turns an investigation into an argument, and it is its own rule break.
- Bugs, exploits and duplication go to staff immediately. Reporting one is never punished. Sitting on one is.
Appealing a decision
- Appeal through support, not by making a second account. Ban evasion is its own offense and it ends the conversation.
- Say what happened and why you think the call was wrong. New evidence helps; repeating the same argument louder does not.
- Appeals are read. Reversals are not guaranteed. Staff decisions are final, and an appeal is a request to look again, not a right to a different answer.
Each world adds its own
This page is the floor, not the ceiling. A server with full-loot PvP and a server with a roleplay district need different rules on top, and each one publishes its own in its Terms of Service and in its Discord. Where they differ, the stricter one applies.
