Credit where you want it
Giving is public or private, your call. Either way, nothing on this page comes from your payment details.
The board shows your Multiverse account’s display name. The name on your Ko-fi or PayPal payment is seen by the staff who keep the books, and never appears on the site.
Choose to give privately when you pay and your gift is listed as an anonymous supporter. It still counts toward the goal and the totals, just without a name.
Signed in, the leaderboard shows your own total and lets you switch between your account name and anonymous. The change shows up straight away.
How a gift finds your account
- Ko-fi: pay with the same email address as your Multiverse account and the gift is credited to you automatically.
- Different email, or PayPal: ask the staff on Discord and they will link the gift to your account.
- No account at all: that is fine. The gift counts in full and is listed as an anonymous supporter.
From your gift to the servers
Through Ko-fi or PayPal, using the buttons on the goal card. Any amount helps, once or as often as you like.
Ko-fi gifts arrive on their own the moment you pay. PayPal gifts are added to the books by the staff.
This month’s bar and the leaderboard catch up within a minute or so of a gift being recorded.
Donations pay the running costs listed in the breakdown on the goal card, the same budget the goal is built from.
Before you give
Do donations buy anything in game?
No. Donations are voluntary and never grant in-game power, priority or special treatment. Shards, the Multiverse Shop currency, cannot be bought with real money and are never traded for donations; they are earned by playing.
Why is my gift listed as anonymous?
Either you chose to give privately, or the gift is not tied to your account yet. Ko-fi gifts are matched to accounts by the email you paid with. If that is not your account email, ask the staff on Discord and they will link the gift for you.
Who can see my payment details?
Card and bank details go to Ko-fi or PayPal and never reach us. The name and email on a payment are visible only to the staff who keep the books. The site shows account names and totals, nothing else.
Can I get a refund?
No. As our Terms of Service say, all donations are non-refundable.
Are donations tax-deductible?
No. Donations to Malevolent Gaming are not tax-deductible.
Every world here runs on its players
Playing, bringing a friend and reporting bugs keep the Multiverse alive too. Giving is one more way to help, and it is always optional.
